Winter Spirit

This project is an experimental exploration of printmaking techniques. The cyanotype process is combined with watercolour painting to produce folktale illustrations. These prints subvert the original folktale perception of winter as daunting and grim, highlighting the peaceful loneliness of this beautiful season’s spirit. Illustrations are inspired by the Slavic holiday Maslenitsa.
